Give and help support our ownership of Billy Clay Pit and almost 3 acres in Pocahontas County, West Virginia for one year. Many members think that MAKC doesn’t have to pay taxes. We own six properties counting our headquarters/library building. While members get a tax deduction for donating to our all-volunteer non-profit, we are not exempt from paying property taxes.
We pay about $150 in property taxes for owning Billy Clay Pit and Clay Pit #2. Additionally, because we are part of a homeowners association, we pay an annual fee for maintenance of the roads within the development. Last year that fee was $850!
