{"id":9301,"date":"2023-01-13T03:34:50","date_gmt":"2023-01-13T03:34:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.karst.org\/?post_type=product&#038;p=9301"},"modified":"2023-09-30T03:18:03","modified_gmt":"2023-09-30T03:18:03","slug":"support-the-makcs-sarah-2022-report","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.karst.org\/index.php\/product\/support-the-makcs-sarah-2022-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Support The MAKC&#8217;s Sarah 2022 Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bert Ashbrook and Chris Hill and other members of the Team Sarah Survey have contributed a vast amount of time and effort to push our cave on the Barbara Schomer Preserve to the edge of cracking the Top 100 in the United States longest caves.<\/p>\n<p>Team Sarah survey members get regular updates on the listserve and MAKC publishes an annual report summarizing those trips along with photos, charts, diagrams and trip reports.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the rising cost of print media, primarily due to an increase in paper costs, this compilation will be a little more costly and push the limits of our budget. MAKC could easily address this cost increase by increasing dues. However, we want to continue to make our membership available to as many people as we can. We are an all-volunteer group, but we do have fees associated with owning properties. So we are seeking a little Sarah Support for the 2022 Report.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Donors will be recognized in this report. So donate now and be entertained by trip reports that truly have some real gems:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Adding to that mixture were several deer carcasses probably left by some questionable sportsmen using the &#8216;shoot first, check for antlers later&#8217; hunting method. Deer must be antlered to be taken during the regular deer hunting season. I actually ran over one of them when I was backing into an area I thought would be drier for changing clothes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Another Sarah surprise, a room with no way in or out, at least by a human anyway. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And they are really hardcore:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Two weeks earlier Chris broke his ankle. He thought he would be able to do it.
