\nMAKC member Karen Bange took the photographs of George Bange and Johnny Motto after MAKC took possession of Penn Aqua Cave in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania on Monday, December 14, 2020. Penn Aqua is NOT a beginner cave\u2014wetsuits required\u2014but it is a popular and fun cave for not only central Pennsylvania caves but for cavers throughout the region. The MAKC board in October authorized George and Johnny to represent us at the closing. Johnny is our treasurer. George and member Rick Smith will form the first part of our management team for the preserve. Fundraising is not complete\u2014MAKC financed part of the $38,000 cost. However, we are almost at the $18,000 mark\u2014not quite halfway, but getting there. To donate send contributions via Paypal to online-sales@karst.org (don’t forget the hypen) or mail to MAKC, 137 East Campbell St., Blairsville, PA 15717. Thanks for your support!<\/p>\n

Support our cave conservation efforts with a donation. Your contribution supports our current cave acquisition fund and property management expenses. We are an all-volunteer organization. There is no “overhead” except for speleothems attached to the cave ceiling.<\/p>\n
