Owned by Dan Denton, who lived nearby, the cave was closed after years of abuse and vandalism. Dan and his friend David Bockoras gated the cave. MAKC arranged a lease, with limited access to the cave, and managed access to the cave for him. Part of the Hesston Cave project involved producing a new map of the cave, which was completed and published.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, Dan passed away.\u00a0 The property has been under new ownership. MAKC, via Dave Field, a local caver, continued to maintain a relationship with the new owner, Dorothy Denton.
