Thanks to the work of member Mike Kern, the MAKC has negotiated a lease agreement for access to the Bedford Springs Cave. Mike Kern and Kaleb Hammond are heading up the preserve management team and can be contacted at\u00a0BedfordSprings@karst.org.<\/a>\u00a0Part of our lease agreement includes notifying the owner and the security team when a trip is taking place.<\/p>\n

Just a reminder that the cave is still privately owned and that our lease agreement is contingent upon visitors to this property respecting the management plan, the seasonal restrictions on visitation and the cave itself.<\/p>\n

Please review the management plan and be responsible using the appropriate gear. The cave should be considered closed from October 15 to April 15 each year to protect any bats that could be hibernating in the cave.<\/p>\n

Please read the management plan\u00a0 and help us keep this cave available to cavers for exploration. Please also support the resort in any way possible, as the staff has been very interested in protecting this cave while also allowing exploration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
