Barton Cave is not a preserve of the MAKC. It is on the Forbes State Forest and is owned by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry. However, MAKC helps the BOF look after the cave, especially when it comes time to close the cave at the end of September. Volunteers are always needed to go caving with us and help close the cave.
