Note: Meeting day changed.

Meeting Information: The Pittsburgh Grotto now meets the 4th Friday of every month (except May and December) at 7:00 p.m. A brief discussion of business is followed by a program, such as a slide show or talk. Members then adjourn to a local pub for quaffing and story telling. Please join us.

Meetings are held in Room 203 of Thaw Hall on the University of Pittsburgh campus in the Oakland section of the City of Pittsburgh.

Directions: The best building entrance is directly behind the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, along O'hara Street, a bit towards Thackary Street.  It is called the Space Research Coordination Center (SRCC) and is attached to Thaw hall, just to the left.  They appear as one building.  You'll see a set of concrete stairs with a central handrail along the sidewalk leading up to glass doors.  An elevator is inside.  Take this elevator to the 5th floor, then go immediately to your right.  You'll come into a large hallway space with rock displays in glass cases presented by the University of Pittsburgh Geology department.  The meeting room is immediately on your left, with 2 separate entrance doors. At this time, for 2012, there is no charge at the street parking meters after 6:00PM.

Parking: There is parking available under Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall. Enter off Bigelow or University Drive. Nearby street parking is also often available during school breaks.

Grotto Executive Committee (Board) meetings will be scheduled on various days each month, as member availability dictates, but usually 1-2 weeks prior to the General Meeting. They typically are at the home of a member. They are very informal and are open to all. If you cannot attend a General meeting, consider a Board meeting. Contact any Board member for place and time. Exact date/time/place will be posted on the listserve before each meeting, or contact a Board member.
