A legend

A legend of the Blairsville Area seems to be that Bear was formally called Fiddler’s Cave. It supposedly was named after a musician, whom after playing at a dance, found his girlfriend taken away by another man. Whereupon he dashed into Bear Cave playing his fiddle, and it is said that people heard him fiddling in Hillside and several miles down the tracks at Millwood. This infers that the cave extends beneath the tracks and further. It is said that someone supplied food to him through a secret entrance.
